Upon leaving the Army in 1985, Mike joined Nalco Chemical Company as a water treatment sales and service representative treating boilers, cooling towers and waste water in the Rochester, MN area. In September 1999 Griff’s company was acquired by HOH Water Technology in Palatine, IL. Subsequently, Mike has worked for HOH for 21 years during which time he held numerous positions – Sales Manager of the Wisconsin Division, Vice President of Engineering, Executive Vice President, and Vice President of Water Safety Compliance. HOH is a privately held family-owned company. From 1999 – 2009 Mike also built and operated a Truck Wash, a Long John Silver’s/A&W fast food restaurant, and a Microtel Hotel. He sold all three of those enterprises by 2010 so that he could move to Palatine to assist the owner with his succession planning, as well as preparing for the transition of turning the company over to his son.
